Gifts allow us to support housing, feeding, and other resources for 20-30 people in our home, meals with 20-50 of our neighbors each week at Frieda’s Place, access to Land for farming and wildlife, space for the broader community, quarterly Kairos newsletter publication, education and outreach, and fostering a home of healing.

The generosity of donations from individuals, organizations, and grants have allowed us to provide housing, food, clothing, case management, Land for farming and wildlife, and space for the community since 1990. Our total operating budget for the year 2020 is $129,000 which is raised through individual donations and grants. For perspective, in 2017, the median family income in Chicago was $83,890, meaning we support 4-6 families comprehensively, and at least 75 additional people each week with a budget only 1.5 times higher than that for families of 2-3 people. These funds allow us to feed, clothe, house, provide access to health care, case management, counseling services, career, behavioral health, and domestic violence training to the people living inside Su Casa, the attendees of Frieda’s Place, and countless other families and individuals who we support.
